Raise Community Awareness
Consider how you can help get the word out about domestic violence where you live.
Poster Campaigns
Can you get a bathroom poster campaign up and running at your place of employment or worship? Get information in both women’s and men’s restrooms about family violence and where to get help as a victim or an abuser.
Community Education
If your place of employment is concerned about violence in the workplace, work to get training through your local shelter or GCADV for supervisors, so that they can develop good policies on responding to domestic violence where you work. If you are a student, see if there are places on campus interested in offering domestic violence workshops or guest speakers in class. There are lots of creative ways to get the word out where you live that domestic violence is not ok and that there are resources for those who need them.
