What We Do
Legal Advocacy
The Georgia Coalition Against Domestic Violence conducts 5 regional legal advocacy caucuses. These caucuses meet in the winter, spring and summer quarters. They have a state-wide annual meeting at the fall Georgia Commission on Family Violence conference.
The caucuses are a forum for legal advocates to discuss regional issues and develop strategies to improve response to domestic violence. Meetings begin with a brief training on requested topics and conclude with time set aside to discuss regional issues. Advocates meet, exchange ideas and develop relationships on which they can depend for support and strategies throughout the year.
The caucuses are open only to current legal advocates affiliated with local shelter programs. To join a legal advocacy caucus, please contact GCADV at info@gcadv.org.
